FISHING RULES 2008
Click Here to download these rules.

Teams:
Teams may consist of two or three members. Substitutes are allowed. However, teams must have one official member in the boat at all times. Teams may have no more than three people fishing in their boat on each lake. Only people on each team’s official roster, which is turned in before the season, may win prizes or fish in the tournament. (Small children and spectators are allowed to ride along but may not catch or assist in the catching of fish for the team.)

Dues:
$50 per team. Dues must be paid by May 4th.

Scoring:
A point system will be used based on length (a separate sheet explains the point system). Teams may register six fish of each species. Lengths will be input online by each team and scores will be updated as often as possible. Bonus points are given for multiple species and bringing in a team limit (6 of one species in this case). One “show-up” point per lake is awarded for each team that has at least one member fish that lake. You are also allowed to throw out one lake; only six lakes will count. This is an on your honor system. We strongly encourage you to bring along a digital camera and take pictures of your fish. This helps confirm your catch and allows us to post pictures of your fish on the website. Fish will be entered by each team using a form on the website www.tjnsports.com The website will be updated as often as possible. You may keep fish to eat if you so choose. All state regulations and laws must be observed! There will be an end of the year tournament at Lake Edward on Sunday, August 24th. We will have a picnic and hand out prizes.

Fishing Hours:
You will have 3 hours to fish each lake. Time starts once you start fishing on the lake and ends 3 hours later. You may fish longer than 3 hours, but any fish caught can’t count towards your point total. Please set an alarm. No pre-fishing a lake during the two weeks that it is to be fished. In other words, if you fish a lake between the dates it is to be fished, it counts towards your point total. You can not go back a second time and have those fish count instead.

Measuring:
Fish will be measured with mouth closed and tail pinched from the mouth of the fish to the tip of the tail. Lengths are not rounded up. For example, a 17.8 inch bass would be a 17 inch bass in our point system, not an 18 inch bass.

Sportsmanship:
League members must follow the highest standards of safety, courtesy, and conservation. Also, remember this will only work if everyone is honest. Be safe and have fun!
